Made with hand-knotted wool, this 2x3 gift-sized rug is an exciting new addition to Rug Kilim’s custom-classics Burano Collection, and is inspired by a rare 18th century antique rug design of Caucasian Karabgh provenance. On the Design: Particularly inspired by antique nomadic pieces, this rug features primitivist old-world geometric patterns sometimes called “dragon” designs for their resemblance; these underscored by warm hues of gold, blue, brown and orange. Admirers of the craft will further appreciate the texture and weave in particular—both meant to recapture the feel of a traditional piece in a smart, contemporary quality. Black fringes on the borders mark our signature weft in this collection, and a rich new complement to this nomadic style.
