Hand-knotted in wool, this 2x3 rug is a new addition to the Burano Collection by Rug
Kilim—a bold and luxurious new exploration of important classics and period pieces.
On the Design:
This rug is inspired by turn-of-the-century Ersari rugs of Turkmenistan and is in keeping with this collection's inspiration from some of the most interesting and important historical styles. Admirers of the craft may note these geometric patterns are the Ersari interpretation of Ikats patterns, and will admire the similar sense of drama and beauty they enjoy in this play of all over and medallion style in a regal combination of gold, dark green, and white hues. Together, these colors capture the look of personal, craft-oriented beauty that distinguishes nomadic textiles and folk art like those rare pieces represented in this collection—an interesting play of contemporary and rich classic colors in our wool, known for its soft, comfortable appeal and durability. Black fringes on the borders mark our signature weft in this collection, and a rich new complement to this nomadic style. Expressing a sophisticated language in design, a smart piece of cultured air and contemporary comfort alike.
