Kilim’s custom-classics Burano Collection.
On the Design:
Bearing fine Persian sensibilities of the early 19th century, the rug witnesses a scintillating show of geometry that manifests as a well-defined medallion pattern with symmetric and well-planned striations. The border and corners exhibit similar regularities in geometric design to seamlessly blend with the theme. The piece flourishes in a beige field with an intricate all-over design and a large-scale rosette medallion in dominant hues of orange and black. Connoisseurs may note inspiration from Heriz-Serapi rugs, and similar provenances of this most regal medallion style. Such a fine detail and symmetry has a natural gravity and grand presence like few contemporary rugs enjoy.
