Made with hand-knotted wool and featuring floral patterns, this 2x3 contemporary rug is inspired by antique Persian rugs of the Heriz and Serapi provenances, known for their legendary beauty.
On The Design:
This rug features a classic medallion design where a serrated diamond in terracotta dominates the ivory field and its geometric form is enhanced by stepped corner spandrels. The central medallion features a precise progression of angular motifs culminating in a square nucleus, while the border displays characteristic Heriz palmettes and angular vine scrolls against a red ground. The palette—warm terracotta, ivory, and deep indigo accents—exemplifies the refined color sensibilities of northwest Persian weaving traditions. Bearing fine Persian sensibilities of the early 19th century, the rug witnesses a scintillating show of geometry that manifests as a well-defined medallion pattern with symmetric and well-planned striations.
