Hand-knotted in a special blend of Ghazni wool, this 5x8 rug from the Burano Collection by Rug Kilim is inspired by antique Caucasian Kazak rugs of the late 19th century. On the Design: This piece features a dense, elaborate design in field and border alike, with geometric patterns, play of medallion and primitivist motifs in a wide range of rich colors. Though its polychromatic colorway is one of its inherent beauties—an impressive range of colors with fabulous movement meant to recapture the look and feel of these classic inspirations—there are especially present red, yellow, blue and cream-white tones among the many at play. It’s an intentional contribution to a classic for a more contemporary level of comfort, and one of the many beauties that makes this collection a sophisticated, smart new language in design.
