Connoisseurs of classics may note the rarity of this pagination of soft colors with an already uncommon design for Khotan Samarkand pieces. To wit, this design plays more uniquely with the texture of our line than almost any other—given many 19th and 20th century pieces of the lineage were finely woven with a mild look of wear similar to our subdued take on the element here—positively exemplified in this 8x10 piece among its many beauties.
