Kilim’s Modern Classics Collection, a stupendous 16x27 palace-sized rug inspired by antique Khotan rugs of the highest caliber.
On the Design:
This piece enjoys the traits of some of the most cherished transitional Khotan Samarakand rugs of the 19th and 20th centuries. A handsome rosette palmette medallion pattern sits gracefully in the beige field, surrounded idyllically by a multiborder exemplifying regal patterns of this lineage. Connoisseurs may note an interlocking fretwork border, dual cloudband borders, and buddhist spandrels completing the portrait of one of the most celebrated Oriental rug traditions in such distinguished colorways. The prevailing blue is complemented by yellow, beige-brown, and off white hues for an overall iconic look, both distinctive in its presence yet sophisticated, and almost quiet for this demeanor. Ideal for palatial interiors, coastal projects, rare large-sized lofts, grand dining halls, and even select venetian styles welcoming this rich-meets-bright contemporary classic.
