Kilim’s Modern Classics rug collection—a reimagining of important classics and traditional rug designs, like this piece in its ode to vintage and antique Khotan and Samarkand rugs of East Turkestan.
On the Design:
Hues of rich red, blue and white underscore geometric floral patterns with a subtle resemblance to classic Oriental motifs—among the many inspirations to rugs of East Turkestan, known to draw on a variety of influences from Chinese to Turkish and Persian motifs. Admirers of the craft and keen eyes will particularly appreciate the healthy, lush quality of the pile, with a subtle, almost silky sheen to it that plays beautifully in any light.
