Hand-knotted in a special blend of Ghazni wool, this beautiful 4x4 square rug is a new addition to the Burano Collection by Rug
Kilim. This piece is profoundly inspired by Persian Malayer provenance, expertly reinterpreting the traditional all-over floral density that distinguishes this sophisticated village weaving style.
On the Design:
This rug is a complex textile mosaic, capturing the essence of a Persian secret garden at twilight. Drawing direct inspiration from Malayer’s characteristic blend of tribal density and floral refinement, the field is a study in saturated color and pattern.
The entire field is rendered in a deep chocolate brown/charcoal hue, which serves as a dramatic canvas for a continuous, swirling lattice of stylized florals, palmettes, and curling vines. These motifs are executed in rich tones of brick red, muted sage green, and soft blue/gray, creating an extraordinary sense of texture and age. The design’s all-over density—typical of Malayer—is beautifully contained by a complex, high-contrast border system. It is an intentional contribution to a classic for a more contemporary level of comfort, and one of the many beauties that makes the Burano Collection a sophisticated, smart new language in design.
