Kilim’s Modern Collection—a series of contemporary rugs by one of the most talented Persian ateliers and designers in the craft today.
On the design:
Each piece in this collection is a unique reimagining of traditional designs and antique rugs in one of the most luxurious new qualities and high knot counts available today. This particular rug—entitled “Siaman”—is named after its namesake, a village in Persia’s Zanjan province. The accent rug enjoys tones of black and slate gray on its field. The discerning eye will appreciate the subtle hues of green visible in the undertone of the rug. Keen eyes will also notice abstract striations all over the rug giving it a sense of movement and dimensionality. The overall absence of striking contrasts puts the masterful subtleties of the design on display, making it an inviting and comfortable piece that could lend texture and warmth to any space.
