Hand-knotted in a special blend of Ghazni wool, this 8x10 rug from the custom-classics Burano Collection by Rug
Kilim is inspired by antique Soumak dragon rugs—a particular family of Caucasian weaving named for these bold geometric patterns and motifs similar to dragons in their graphic nature.
On the Design:
Rich red underscores blue and a variety of complementary hues in an all over geometric patterns (or “dragons” as the keen eye will note). The fine detail, sense of movement, and variety of archaic tribal motifs also speak to the many beauties of these old-world designs—living beautifully in the Ghazni wool’s more soft, impressionistic texture admirers of the craft will note in this construction. It’s an intentional contribution to a classic for a more contemporary level of comfort, and one of the many beauties that makes this collection a sophisticated, smart new language in design.
