On the Design:
One can't help but notice the immediate, unexpected approach to an anything-but-traditional field and border structure, admirers of the craft will notice the classic element of a lattice pattern and floral repeat in the blue and white ground. The striae of beige-brown tones is not distress, but an entire separate weave through and atop the 'ground' with its own incredibly subtle textural element. Both the conservative, yet rich palette of old-world hues and the deft hand behind this mastery of twin weaves requires a keen eye, not to mention a very meticulous approach. The sum look is a truly one-of-a-kind marriage of the more comfortable, traditional repeat with the attitude of an almost abstract design, where juxtaposition has never looked so complementary, intentional, and natural. While bold in its concept, the overall presence is quite soothing and comfortable in its smart use of such humble colors as these; another hallmark of a master weaver behind this exciting new collection.
