Kilim’s Modern Collection—a series of contemporary rugs by one of the most talented ateliers and designers in the craft today.
On the Design:
Each piece in this collection is a unique reimagining of traditional designs and antique rugs in one of the most luxurious new qualities and high knot counts available today. This particular rug—entitled “Nika”—enjoys a large-scale central medallion in silver, gray, black, white, and gold tones. The marriage of the brilliant sheen of silk, a regal colorway, and a grand medallion nestled within intricate bands of several gold borders make for an exceedingly royal look. The patterns have an almost kaleidoscopic quality, adding to the charm and visual interest this design carries. The atelier’s neat signature reading—“Ashkiyoun” also appears on the top. This rug denotes the modish aesthetics of one of the most bold and intricate creations from any atelier in the world today.
