On the Design:
This design is a bold new exploration of dimensionality and depth in the marriage of pattern and texture in a contemporary tribal rug. Against a rich, saturated mahogany red field, the large-scale checkerboard pattern in deep black creates a design that speaks to both Berber weaving traditions and modern sensibilities. The intentionally distressed sections create compelling textural contrast, while horizontal bands of delicate white and pink dashes provide subtle rhythmic accents and break the vast field.
