This hand-knotted wool 11x15 rug is an especially exciting new addition to Rug
Kilim’s Modern Classics Collection—a regal design particularly inspired by the antique Persian Tabriz rugs of master weaver Hadji Jalili in a new line of rugs honoring his legendary works.
On the Design:
A play of gold and green tones with red and orange accents underscores a dense, elaborate floral pattern—a marriage of medallion and all over style in an especially fine, meticulous execution, meant to honor Jalili’s expert work in fine detail and large scale alike. Keen eyes will admire how naturally these hues complement and move together in this finely detailed, lively floral pattern in field and border alike. Admirers of the craft will further note a particular emphasis on cypress trees, large-scale lancet leaves, and animal pictorials (namely birds in the borders)—all recapturing the details one might enjoy in one of Jalili’s masterful Tabriz hunting rugs, known for their grandeur and teeming designs.
