Made with handwoven wool, this 13x17 custom rug design is an exciting new addition to Rug
Kilim’s Scandinavian “Nu” rug collection—a contemporary reimagining of Swedish minimalism and vintage rugs and textiles of Rollakan and Rya traditions.
On the Design:
These photos represent a recently sold 13x17 “Nu” flat weave that enjoys a boucle-like texture of blended yarns. This piece exemplifies the finesse of Swedish aesthetics with a rippling geometric pattern casting a 3D impression in elegant tones of beige, cream
gray chevron patterns. Keen eyes will also admire the chic striae born of the intricate weaving style inherent to this collection; a proprietary technique that both innovates and honors mid-century weaving techniques inherent to Scandinavian style.
Our flatweave’s more durable, weighted body is also a hallmark of the collection, made for high-traffic and heavy-furniture spaces. This, alongside several elements detailed here, represent R&K Principal Jahanshah Nazmiyal’s hope to honor this mid-century modern aesthetic. His Scandinavian Collection is a contribution to that style, and a renaissance for its designs with more comfortable, current techniques.
