Made with handwoven wool, this 15x25 rug is an exciting new addition to Rug
Kilim’s Scandinavian rug collection—a contemporary reimagining of Swedish minimalism and vintage rugs and textiles of Rollakan and Rya traditions.
On the Design:
This new flat weave reinvents vintage Scandinavian Kilim in ways that both honor the Swedish minimalist aesthetic and modernize its construction. Our use of natural yarns, for example, lends a subtle striae with more of a sense of movement and depth—a subtle nod to Rollakan techniques in a modern fashion. The design enjoys geometric patterns in tones of beige, cream, ivory white, and ice blue accents with intricate variations from the aforementioned weaving style. Admirers of the craft will appreciate this proprietary technique of ours that both innovates and honors mid-century weaving techniques inherent to Scandinavian style.
This oversized modern flat weave further enjoys our reputed, heavier body with buckle resistance and greater durability against foot traffic. A bold, yet sophisticated contribution to the Swedish Deco aesthetic.
