Made with hand-knotted wool and featuring floral patterns, this 10x14 contemporary rug from Rug
Kilim’s Modern Classics collection is inspired by antique Persian rugs of Sultanabad provenance—some of the most sought-after in Oriental rugs since the 1800s.
On The Design:
This contemporary interpretation of a Sultanabad pattern deploys an allover design of palmettes and vine scrolls against a beige field. Large-scale floral motifs in orange, coral and wheat create measured rhythm through deliberate spacing, while secondary botanical elements provide fluid connection between major forms. The border presents a continuous series of stylized flowers linked by angular vine work, its terracotta ground offering measured contrast to the central field. Each design element maintains classical Sultanabad proportions while the restrained palette of orange, beige and ivory speaks to modern aesthetic preferences.
