Kilim’s Scandinavian rug collection—its design inspired by mid-century Swedish minimalist textile designs of the Rollakhan and Rya weaving traditions.
On the Design:
This rug enjoys a dynamic, large-scale serrated pattern that creates a striking sense of rhythm and energy through its interlocking "zigzag" geometry. This design draws inspiration from the Swedish minimalist movement and its works from 1919 Bastad well into the mid-century, adapted in such a beautifully minimalist fashion that, uniquely, remains as contemporary in its beauty today as it was in the days of Märta Måås-Fjetterström and the icons of her period.
Keen eyes will admire the blend of wool and undyed, natural yarns interwoven for a look of striae and subtle color variation, lending the surface an organic, luminous depth.
