On the Design:
This custom rug sample features a modern take on classic Scandinavian design sensibilities with a repeat of geometric patterns in a graceful, luminous colorway of white, gray, and subtle beige tones. This new flat weave reinvents vintage Scandinavian Kilim in ways that both honor the Swedish minimalist aesthetic and modernize its construction. Our use of undyed natural yarns, for example, lends a subtle striae with more of a sense of movement and depth—a nod to Rollakan techniques in a modern fashion. This subtle intricacy both brings out the movement and pays homage to a traditional Scandinavian weaving technique alike.
