On the Design:
These photos represent a 9x12 modern Swedish rug in cool and light tones of icy blue, beige and ivory white underscore a repeat of large-scale geometric patterns as inspired by the mid-century Swedish approach to minimalism and Deco sensibilities alike. Keen eyes will further admire the meticulous blend of yarns visible in this flatweave—a unique and intricate process which both acts as a subtle nod to traditional Scandinavian weaving techniques and lends a look of abrash and striae to the design. This, alongside several elements detailed here, represent R&K Principal Jahanshah Nazmiyal’s hope to honor this mid-century modern aesthetic. His Scandinavian Collection is a contribution to that style, and a renaissance for its designs with more comfortable, current techniques.
