This 7x9 Scandinavian kilim, hand woven in wool and silk, is a new addition to our “Watson” yarn collection—an elegant new representation of Swedish rug designs in our field
On the design:
This design enjoys blue and beige-brown tones underscore geometric patterns in the all over style—taken from Swedish minimalism and reimagined with a contemporary feel. Keen eyes will admire the warm look lent by the blend of yarns interwoven for a look of striae and subtle color variation. This proprietary technique of ours both innovates and honors mid-century weaving techniques inherent to Scandinavian style.
This modern flat weave further enjoys our reputed, heavier body with buckle resistance and greater durability against foot traffic than the vintage Kilims and tapestries that inspired our collection. The noticeable differences from a labor of love in a handwoven flat weave rug speaks to us in Scandinavian “Watson” with a refreshing new energy—one that captures the honorific intention of the collection, the effort of its creators, and the collaborative spirit Jahanshah Nazmiyal aspires to as a known creator after 40 years of industry knowledge accrued.
