A bold new addition to Rug
Kilim’s Scandinavian Collection, this 9×12 rug is handwoven in a new flatweave construction using a blend of wool and exotic yarns. Its design reflects a contemporary take on mid-century Rollakans and Swedish Deco style.
On the Design:
This new flat weave reinvents vintage Scandinavian Kilim in ways that both honor the Swedish minimalist aesthetic and modernize its construction. Our use of undyed natural yarns, for example, lends a subtle striae with more of a sense of movement and depth—a subtle nod to Rollakan techniques in a modern fashion. The choice of colors, too, explores their retro feel in a more refreshed quality. This particular Kilim enjoys navy and sky blue geometric patterns in the all over style. It’s a smart balance of new and chic that brings mid-century geometric patterns a fabulous new look and feel.
Our flat weave further enjoys a thick, more durable body with a beautifully soft texture. It’s a hallmark of our Kilim design, and another contemporary contribution to the Scandinavian aesthetic that sits comfortably anywhere.
