This 9x12 rug is a bold new addition to the Scandinavian Collection by Rug
Kilim. Handwoven in a wool flatweave with undyed natural yarns as well, its design is a new edition of our Carpet Design Awards winning “Marta Stripe” series— a contemporary take on an iconic mid-century modern Swedish aesthetic.
On the Design:
Admirers of the craft will note “Marta Stripe” is named in honor of one of the mothers of Scandinavian style, Märta Måås-Fjetterström, who inspired this collection. Keen eyes for detail may admire its technique and look while meaningfully drawing on Scandinavian principles and weaving techniques—which are both entirely unique to our flat weave and custom production for a modern approach. Connoisseurs may further admire its unique colorway of navy blue, brown and taupe tones underscore a play of stripes and geometric patterns.
Our flat weave further enjoys a thick, more durable body with a beautifully soft texture. It’s a hallmark of our Kilim design, and another contemporary contribution to the Scandinavian aesthetic that sits comfortably anywhere.
