About the Item

This custom capable stock rug represents the latest bold additions to Rug Kilim's Burano collection, reputed for its pioneering method of capturing classic patterns with especially European sensible interpretations of Oriental inspirations. The influences from Samarkand Khotan rugs can be seen in the meandering border, a classic pattern drawing off Khotan's era as a Buddhist kingdom seldom seen in these rich brown hues, playing elegantly off the chilling frost blue accents of the geometric-floral field and capturing the look of European sensibilities marrying Oriental grace this collection celebrates. The juxtaposed rich and crisp hues alike are complemented by an inviting, plush texture in the pile height created by exceptionally soft Ghazni wool and our own signature blend of additional yarns from our collection—hand knotted originating from one of the most celebrated workshops in India.
