Kilim's custom-classics Burano Collection is inspired by a historic turn-of-the-18th-century Konya rug design preserved by the Ibrahim Pasa Museum in Istanbul.
On the Design:
Admirers of the craft may note the abstract geometric writing motifs (akin to Kufic script) in this design, alongside several vibrant octagonal geometric medallions underscored by ruby red and light gray tones. The field is anchored by three powerful, distinct medallions rendered in a striking palette of mustard gold, deep blue, and earthy brown. Keen eyes for detail will further appreciate the especially soft, comfortable texture and the refined execution of the repeating pattern that lines the borders.
