Made with a special blend of hand-knotted Ghazni wool, this 3x3 contemporary square rug from Rug Kilim's custom-classics Burano Collection is inspired by vintage and antique tribal rugs. On the Design: A black field underscores a repeat of circles and what appear to be geometric patterns, though admirers of the craft will recognize these to be nomadic interpretations of the paisley floral pattern in traditional rugs. The surrounding borders are underscored by rich saturated red and cream tones, with blue and gold accents keen eyes will note in the floral scroll, ram’s horn meander, and other archaic patterns at play. captures the eye with a union of geometric designs, traditional motifs floral patterns in red, beige-brown, cream, green and orange colors—a depiction of old-world culture and rustic charm exemplary of this collection’s look at the most important histories of folk art.
