This 13x13 vintage Dhurrie flatweave and square rug is an exciting new curation from Rug Kilim’s latest acquisition of rare and exemplary mid-century flatweaves of the same style—handwoven in cotton in India circa 1950-1960. On the Design: Admirers of the craft will note this piece as a collectible—among few such versatile-sized square rugs from Indian Dhurries of this period. This kilim enjoys warm tones of sky blue in its open field, with a border and geometric patterns in salmon red and rust tones. It’s an exceptional use of few colors that achieves a warm presence and subtle movement for a minimalist rug; an exemplar of both traditional Indian textile arts and modernist design principles. Condition: This vintage Dhurrie kilim has good condition for its age and origin.
