21017 Vintage Red Beni Mrirt Moroccan Rug, 06'11 x 10'08. This hand-knotted wool vintage Beni Mrirt Moroccan rug—a masterpiece from the Mrirt region in the Middle Atlas Mountains, meticulously crafted by the Beni Mrirt tribe within the expansive tapestry of Morocco's Berber ethnic group. These Moroccan rugs, renowned for their bold, geometric patterns, refined craftsmanship, and monochromatic color schemes, epitomize understated beauty. Bathed in luminous fiery hues, the Moroccan rug unfolds like a canvas of painterly brush strokes, its rich waves of abrash and softly gradated striations running selvage to selvage. A simple flower adorns the composition. The vibrant hue of Marrakesh, an Imperial city, is captured in the shade of Red, or Rose, mirroring the natural color of Tabla, a red clay sourced from the Haouz Plains west of the city.
