21201 vintage Berber Beni M'Guild Moroccan rug with Mid-Century Modern Tribal style 06'10 x 12'02. Saturated in good taste and rich abrash, this hand knotted wool vintage Berber Beni M'Guild Moroccan rug is a captivating vision of woven beauty. The eye-catching diamond trellis and vibrant colors woven into this vintage Moroccan rug work together creating a truly unique look. The abrashed field features an all-over lozenge lattice composed of chevron lines and concentric diamonds decorated with X-shapes and V-shapes surrounded by a series of lines creating an expansion effect, adding visual interest and depth. Historical richness and full of Ancient Berber symbolism, this vintage Beni M'Guild rug features traditional symbols of protection and femininity in the central area while the borders along the vertical sides traditionally represent the male's presence. In Moroccan rugs, male motifs often appear on the outer portions of the composition, framing and enclosing the female motifs. This presentation can be seen as symbolizing fertility, as well as protection and the sanctuary of the family. Imbued with burgundy hues and red tones, the rich waves of abrash and softly gradated striations run selvage to selvage blending seamlessly from one to the next. The blending of colors harmonize one another, creating the perfect design and emanating function and versatility while staying true to the authentic spirit of Berber Tribe culture. Rendered in variegated shades of red, burgundy, brick red, wine, orange, gold, taupe, purple, tangerine, eggplant, yellow, light gray, tan, and beige with other accent colors.
