About the Item
A Lion Berber rug from Morocco
This rug was hand knotted by women of the Beni Ourain tribe in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. It has wonderful soft wool and medium high pile. It is new, unused and in excellent condition.
For many tribal people in Africa and Asia the Lion is the symbol of strength and power. It also is believed to have protective power to defend from bad fate and curses.
We have a cooperative of women in Morocco producing wonderful tribal art for our Gallery. If you need a rug like this in another size, we will be happy to produce it for you. We are specialized in custom and bespoke rug production.
We can produce this rug in sizes for living room, dining room, bedroom or hallway runner.
Colors: Background color wool white
Motif color dark brown / dark red mixed wool.

This small sized beige ground Berber rug comes from Morocco, North Africa.
This stunning piece of art was hand knotted with tribal designs and Bauhaus inspirations. The abstract design of these Berber rugs inspired many modern European artists who visited Moroccan in the first half of the 20th century.
The condition of the rug is excellent and new.
