About the Item
Vintage Beniourain carpet, handmade in the 1980s by Berber women artisans in the Moroccan High Atlas Mountains. This fine, large (416×210 cm) item has been hand-knotted from natural, undyed wool, retaining its original softness and warm, elegant cream coloring.
The black, linear and abstract graphic motifs represent tribal symbols related to protection, fertility and cycles of life. Each sign is the result of an ancient oral transmission, linking the weavers to their landscape and the history of their community.
This rug stands out for its balance of graphic rigor and organic aesthetics, perfect for modern, boho chic or wabi-sabi settings. It is in good vintage condition, with minimal traces of use consistent with its age and authenticity.
