About the Item

This large-scale Berber rug, made in the 1990s, is a rare item of contemporary tribal design, where ancestral art meets individual expression. Hand-knotted in the Middle Atlas, it is composed of natural wool hand-dyed with plant pigments in a sustainable, centuries-old tradition. The multicolored colors-reds, yellows, blues, blacks and greens-are all the result of natural dyes, obtained from minerals, plants and roots, and arranged in abstract geometric patterns that are never repetitive. This type of composition does not follow set patterns: each carpet is its own work, inspired by the symbolic imagery of the weaver. Selected by Afolki for its visual strength and authenticity, this rug is ideal for environments that combine contemporary design and artistic research. Like all Afolki pieces, it was chosen locally, respecting local artisan communities. In great vintage condition. No restoration. Professional cleaning performed.
