About the Item
Hand-knotted with fine, lustrous Ghazni wool, Casablanca spearheads the contemporary Moroccan collection of the Alberto Levi Gallery. Here, the infinite repeat pattern of parallel and offset diamond elements is worked in tone-on-tone against a light celadon green background peppered by a multitude of abrash composed of various shades of natural, undyed wool. The very subtle contrast between background and field pattern allows for the design to be whispered, for it to be seen but not heard.
In the end we have a carpet which embodies all of the magic of vintage Beni Ouarain Moroccan Berber rugs, yet in a more useful size and with a delightful texture that will surely add a touch of elegance in any type of interior.
