About the Item
This large taupe Moroccan rug was handmade by skilled weavers in the Atlas Mountains using the highest quality, softest M'Rirt wool. A neutral heathered brown base forms the background for a geometric design featuring classic Moroccan design objects. In particular, this handmade Moroccan rug features multiple variations of the Berber star symbol. More uniquely, it also features handwoven teapots in the design. The teapot is particularly important to Moroccan culture as it is common for locals to drink mint tea daily and to serve it to guests as a sign of hospitality. While the rug itself is neutral, this design feature makes it stand out as a very special representation of Moroccan culture, and particularly Berber or Amazigh culture. This rug measures approximately 7'1" x 10'10", making it the ideal anchor for a bedroom, living room, or any other spacious area. The 100% high quality Moroccan wool construction makes for a very soft and luxurious feel underfoot. A medium pile adds to ultra soft luxury feel. This rug has been photographed outside in the natural Marrakech light to show its true color; as such you may see flecks of sunlight on the wool in the photos shown.
