Modern Moroccan Rug 4594, What makes Moroccan rugs so special are not only their stunning designs, but also fascinating history. Few people know that Moroccan rugs started out as a strictly tribal art, practiced away from the city centers. At the beginning tribal weavers had to develop their craft through trial and error, which resulted in development of Moroccan rugs as we know them today. Any imperfections or seeming “errors” in the pattern are in fact a result of centuries of independent education and are a proof of authenticity.
This stunning Moroccan rug immediately draws attention with beauty of its design. It was hand knotted using only the highest quality wool, in order to assure that its pile will stay soft for years to come. It displays an all over diamond pattern, characteristic for all Moroccan rugs. The diamonds are not completely symmetrical, creating a sense of misbalance, which only serves to make the composition more interesting. Color palette accompanying it features two shades, blue and ivory, which help to highlight the best features of the whole rug.
