This hand-knotted wool 7x10 Moroccan rug by Rug
Kilim represents an exciting new line of modern tribal rugs. Its design plays Art Deco-style geometric patterns with the lush pile texture of the Berber tradition. It’s one of several pieces handmade by some of the most devoted nomadic weavers in rural Morocco, both keeping a rich tradition alive and helping it to flourish with new possibilities today.
On the Design:
This piece enjoys a play black, beige-brown and copper tones in cubist geometric patterns on a bright pink field. Admirers of the craft will appreciate this subversive adaptation of the Art Deco look to such playful Moroccan colors.
