This vintage rug and floor covering is a 3x10 Tuareg runner mat from the nomadic tribe of the same name. Handwoven with reeds in Mauritania circa 1950-1960, it is an exciting new addition to our tribal Moroccan rugs.
On the Design:
Admirers of the craft will especially appreciate Tuareg mats as distinct works with their own rich history and unique, masterful craftsmanship. This design is also one of few in its kind to favor a minimalist approach to the primitivist Berber geometric stripe patterns.
