This vintage Tuareg mat, handmade in the 1970s in Mauritania, embodies the cultural heritage of the nomads of the Sahara. Handwoven with natural rushes and camel leather inserts, it represents a rare example of the Tuareg tradition, where each geometric pattern has symbolic and identity significance.
Originally used in desert tents to insulate and decorate spaces, today it is an ideal furnishing accessory for contemporary, boho or wabi-sabi interiors. It can be used as a rug, wall tapestry or unique decorative element.
