About the Item

Early 20th Century American Navajo Carpet ( 3'8" x 5'10" - 112 x 178 ) This antique piece contains both the iconic Navajo sharp, chevron triangle zig-zags on the sides and two columns of seven eight pointed Caucasian “Lesghi” stars up the light grey center, with little open red lozenges in between. Red, ivory and charcoal are the detail tones and a narrow abrashed charcoal border edges this well-woven piece in excellent condition. A vibrant Navajo flatweave rug, handwoven in wool circa 1960, featuring a striking geometric design in shades of grey, ivory, black, and red. The pattern showcases stepped diamonds and serrated motifs arranged in bold symmetry, framed by a dark border that enhances its contrast and visual depth. This piece reflects the enduring artistry of Navajo weaving traditions, with balanced proportions and strong color placement. Measuring 3'8" x 5'10" (112 x 178 cm), it is versatile enough to be used as a rug, wall hanging, or collector’s textile.
