Kilim's collection of rare and collectible American hooked rugs and folk art designs—a fabulous bucolic find of early 20th century talismanic design in its provenance, made with hand-hooked wool and originating within the United States circa 1920-1930.
On the Design:
This hooked rug enjoys a bold horseshoe motif centered within a geometric design, in a concept much like open field rugs in its use of negative space through color. Connoisseurs will appreciate the refined compositional approach, where the lucky horseshoe is positioned centrally within an elongated hexagonal field and flanked by delicate olive branches that enhance its talismanic significance.
