About the Item
An absolutely spectacular carpet custom designed for a special client in the late 1960's. The design of this carpet is from Josef Alber's "Variant IX" art work. Little is known about this piece. We are not sure if it was designed directly from Josef Albers or the foundation. The client was a very important art collector in Toronto at the time and would have had the connections and means to have Albers create such an incredible piece for him.
Images shown with chairs for scale. An impressive large work of fibre art.
This carpet/rug is created in 100% wool. Some discolouration and markings are present from honest wear over the decades. Pleas ask about exact condition prior to purchasing. We can send along images of any marking or discolouration to review.
Overall a large scale work of usable art. Rare to find and rare to have the opportunity to purchase.
