Beautifully preserved early 20th-century Navajo area rug, handwoven in the American Southwest, this piece is a striking example of traditional Navajo craftsmanship. The rug features a bold central medallion design, framed within a harmonious palette of oatmeal, warm brown, soft gray, and rich red, all derived from natural organic dyes. Executed with fine hand-spun wool on a cotton foundation, the rug boasts a high knot density and meticulous flat weave, indicative of the skill and care that went into its creation.
