About the Item

This stunning Bakhtairi, hand-woven carpet is a beautiful reflection of the people who created it. Known for their colorful floral motifs and typically thick pile, the Bakhtairi tribes raise their own sheep that graze on the lushest pastures throughout the southwestern regions of Isfahan, resulting in the highest quality wool, which is spun and used in the carpets they create. This rug is constructed with wool pile on a cotton foundation, with 90-110 KPSI. The design anchor is a large central medallion with floral tendrils, flame shaped scrolls with flowing and organic lines, vine motifs, and a field filled with dense vine and flower patterns, leaf palmettes and naturalistic florals. The color palette includes variations of red, blush rose, peaches, black, dark navy and shades of green and blue with cream highlights, making this rug an incredible choice for a wide variety of room designs.
