74698 Vintage Persian Heriz Rug, 06'08 x 08'05. Woven in the loom of time and tradition, this hand-knotted wool vintage Persian Heriz rug emerges like a lyrical tableau of history and harmony. Its bold octofoil medallion—symmetrical and finely ornamented—blossoms in layers of ivory, deep red, royal blue, and midnight navy blue, each hue carefully composed like stanzas in an ancient Persian poem. Anchored with flaming palmette pendants, the central medallion draws the eye inward before releasing it outward into a sprawling field of architectural precision and visual balance.
The surrounding red field is alive with symbolic storytelling, where angular palmettes, vine scrolls, and stylized rosettes drift across the surface like drifting autumn leaves. Botanical motifs—some echoing the peony for power and the tulip for prosperity—dance within the geometric framework with expressive restraint, conjuring a sense of permanence amid the ephemeral. The contrast between sharp symmetry and soft metaphor creates a visual symphony of tradition and timeworn artistry.
In each of the four corners, ivory spandrels bloom with serrated motifs and crenellated tendrils, suggesting the borders of a sacred garden or the guarded threshold of a palace courtyard.
