About the Item
An incredible and rare horse cover rug woven in the northwest region of Iran.The piece was perhaps woven by an artist/weaver woman as a gift for her fiance,a Tribal tradition,and not for the market. Featuring a triangle plain black field surrounded with rust background addition to complete the square cover create an amazing contrast. The surrounding addition is decorated with herati design and the three guard borders have small flowers and leaves.
The superb quality wool of this rug is dyed by all organic elements,the quality of knots are of maximum possible counts for wool material. Sides and ends are all original, all cuts are made by the weaver for the purpose of horse covering and are original, no restorations were found and the condition is consistent with the age and use. A great woven wall hanging.
