Made with hand knotted wool originating between 1880-1890, this antique Afshar Persian rug enjoys one of the most uniquely meticulous variations of the cypress tree motif, a celebrated representation of the acclaimed tree of life symbol believed to signify eternal life and honorific themes seldom seen in this piece’s versatile size with such a hypnotic repetition.
