About the Item

In this listing you will find a stunning tribal Bakhtiari saddle bag. This is a handwoven nomadic saddle bag, also known as a khorjin or chuval woven by Bakhtiari tribes in 100% natural dyed wool. These types of bags were historically used by traveling nomads to carry everyday necessities on camels, donkeys or horses. The style, characterized by deep red, blue, and dark tones with intricate geometric patterns, is typical of Persian and Afghan tribal and village weavers. Made in West Asia in the 1920s. The khorjin is in very good condition. When purchased the bag will be carefully wrapped up and packed in a way to avoid any damages in transport.
