About the Item
In this listing you will find a stunning antique hand-knotted Baluch rug featuring geometric and stylized deer motifs in deep red, orange, and black hues. It is woven by the nomadic Baluch tribes, who live in the border regions of Afghanistan and Pakistan, showcases a traditional tribal design with repeating stylized animal figures (deer) arranged symmetrically within the central field. The borders have detailed geometric patterns. The rug is made from wool, hand-spun and dyed using natural vegetable dyes, which results in rich, saturated hues. Made in the region if today's Afghanistan in the beginning of 20th Century.
The rug is in good antique condition with some signs of time and use.
