This traditional hand-woven Persian Malayer rug has a chocolate-brown field with a dense floral vine around horizontal rows of large light blue and buff-brown bold shield shaped panels and part panels each containing a large palmette surrounded by angular floral and leafy vine and a lozenge at each end with a central X-motif, in a broad buff-brown border with light blue and chocolate-brown turtle-palmette vine between chocolate-brown meandering boteh vine stripes, outer buff-brown angular floral vine stripe. Persian Malayer rugs originate from the Malayer region of Iran and are known for their intricate patterns, rich colors, and fine craftsmanship. These rugs often feature geometric or floral motifs, with medallion or all-over designs in deep blues, reds, and ivory tones.
